EPA Environmental Education Grant
The Wadena SWCD has been issued a subaward to assist the Hubbard SWCD with their EPA Environmental Education Grant. The main goal is to provide an educational platform that provides resources to teachers, educators, and community members to teach various environmental topics. Schools in Wadena County are encouraged to become involved and utilize these approved educational modules which are hosted on the Minnesota Watersheds Virtual Lab.
Another option under this grant is collecting seeds and cones for compensation. This is based on the grant's secondary goal of aiding in Minnesota's seed/cone shortage that state nurseries are currently experiencing. Rentable collection kits are now available at our office (and Hubbard SWCD) which individuals can borrow to collect seed and cones.
